Welcome to my latest vlog.
This week I‘ve been out and about in Cardiff looking at the artwork that’s appeared as part of the Cardiff Contemporary Festival. This is the third festival and the theme is ‘Communication’, inspired by the pioneering work of Marconi who sent the world’s first ever wireless communication over open sea from Flat Holm Island to Lavernock Point on 13th May 1897.
The festival is a great opportunity for artists, residents, businesses, everyone to come together and to celebrate the vibrant arts and creative scene that we’ve got here in Cardiff.
Behind me in this vlog is Robert Montgomery’s light sculpture on the NCP Car Park at the front of Cardiff Central train station. It reads ‘ALL PALACES ARE TEMPORARY PALACES’ and it invites us to think about our place in the world. It’s got people talking in the city and that’s what this festival is all about.
