Living Wage Week 30th October – 5th November

Welcome to my latest vlog.

Today I was delighted to attend the launch of Living Wage Week in Wales. The event was held in the beautiful surroundings of Cardiff Castle and was attended by the First Minister, Carwyn Jones AM, as well as representatives from some of the 79 Living Wage employers we have in Wales.  During the event the First Minister announced an increase in the Living Wage rate to £8.45 an hour from 1st April next year.

Public Consultation on the New Bus Interchange

Welcome to my latest blog.

The public consultation on the new bus interchange has been going on throughout October.  An exhibition has been held in Central Library by the developers. To supplement this, the Council has also held an exhibition in Central Square itself. Today I popped along to see how it’s been going.

Local Democracy Week

Welcome to my latest vlog.

This week I’m talking about Local Democracy Week. So from next Monday there’ll be a series of events taking place to mark Local Democracy Week across the UK and in Cardiff we’ll be taking the Cabinet on the road for the next few months. And that starts next week when we’ll be in Cardiff Central Library where members of the public can come along and see the top decision-making body in the City Council in action.  We’ll be discussing a range of papers including the new Transport Strategy for the city as well as the new Housing Strategy.  So if you’re interested, come along and get involved!

Diolch,

Phil
