The Tramshed is officially open!

Welcome to my latest vlog.

This week I attended the official opening of the Tramshed in Grangetown. This is a fantastic new cultural and arts venue.  It’s a project developed as a result of the Council using its assets very differently.  As many residents will remember this venue used to be the Council’s tram depot.  For many years we had staff working here on various transport projects.

But we decided to enter a partnership with a local developer and the building has been transformed with various facilities such as a fantastic café-bar, a cinema which will open shortly, some ‘live-work’ units and a tech-hub all brought together alongside a fantastic entertainment and music venue which has already attracted some big name bands here.

300 long-term job opportunities have been created as a result of this project. It’s really going to help us in regenerating not just Grangetown, but the wider area in this part of the city.  So it was a great day and a brilliant project for the city council to be part of.
